SEO Is Not Dead — It Just Met AEO: Ranking in the AI Era

The question I hear most from business owners in Junagadh and across Gujarat: if AI answers everything, why should I still care about SEO? The honest answer is that SEO is not dying — it is splitting into two jobs.

Search engine optimization (SEO) still decides who shows up when someone types 'best AI developer in Junagadh' into Google. But a new layer decides who gets quoted when the same question is asked to ChatGPT, Gemini, or shown in Google's AI Overviews. That layer is AEO — answer engine optimization.

The playbook for both is refreshingly similar:

1. Answer the question directly. Clear, specific answers in the first paragraph beat clever marketing copy every time.
2. Use structured data. Schema markup tells engines exactly what you are — a service, a person, an article. This site carries ProfessionalService markup for exactly that reason.
3. Be locally grounded. For Junagadh and Gujarat businesses, the local angle is the unfair advantage: real address, real service area, real local pages. National competitors cannot fake that.
4. Earn the citation. Answer engines love quotable, well-structured content. Write the passage you would want quoted — then make sure it is quotable.

The businesses that rank in 2026 will be the ones optimized for both humans and machines: fast pages, clear answers, local signals, and structured data. That is the work I do — and it is why this site is built the way it is.
